David Baxter has been a mortgage professional since 1993, bringing more than three decades of full-time experience to his clients and real estate partners. He joined New American Funding on August 31, 2026, after concluding a 17-year career with U.S. Bank. David’s extensive background includes mortgage and bank branch management, executive leadership with a national mortgage company, and partnership and ownership in two mortgage companies. Before entering the mortgage industry, he worked in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting in the Controller’s Office at General Dynamics. David works with everyone from first-time homebuyers and conventional, VA and FHA borrowers to jumbo and high-net-worth clients, as well as clients needing land, construction or complex financing. With a “start with the end in mind” approach, he first learns what each client wants to accomplish and then develops a financing strategy to help achieve that goal. Known for solving challenging transactions, David values clear communication, proactive transaction management and strong relationships with real estate professionals. A San Diego State University graduate with an MBA emphasizing finance, he strives to be a knowledgeable financial resource throughout every client’s home-financing journey.
